Live as if Dead July 31, 2006

I was pondering today how I struggle with giving everything over to God, seeking him for every decision. I want to make all my decisions based on Godly principles – but I want to make the decisions. The thought that came to me was “live as if you are dead.” Somehow we think it would be easier to physically die for God than to surrender our everyday moments. But if we consider ourselves dead, how we provide for ourselves, what we eat, our reputation, it all really doesn’t matter. If we live and its good – great – but if we die or struggle – we die. But…aren’t we made alive in Christ. And then I realized…alive IN Christ. If we live for any moment outside of Christ, we are living in death. And our confusion and our fear of the consequences of our decisions demonstrates that we have walked back into the curse of death.

The Price of a Day July 31, 2006

“This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use, as I will; I can waste it, or use it for good. What I do today is very important because I’m exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever leaving something in its place that I’ve traded for it. I want it to be a gain, not a loss; good, not evil; success, not failture, in order that I shall not regret the price that I paid for it.”
